Tiab announces new controller hardware

6th June 2005

Tiab are to upgrade their controller range to include a faster processor, significantly more logging and replay memory and a cutting-edge USB 2.0 interface. The new controllers will have up to 16 analogue inputs, 12 analogue outputs and configurable discrete inputs/outputs up to 32.

The new controllers will use the same controller software as existing Tiab controllers, but the extra hardware power will lead to even more flexibility in control scenarios.

Examples of tasks which the new hardware is capable of handling include:

  • continuous replay and logging of 16 channels at up to 25kHz.
  • real-time control of 6-actuator Multi-Axis Shaker Table (MAST) rigs, including real-time MAST transformation calculations
  • simultaneous use of up to three different replay and logging functions
  • control of up to 12 actuators with PID loop closure at 5kHz
